Highlights from Marshall’s NFL Network interview

Brandon Marshall was in studio on NFL Network’s Total Access show, and it’s clear that he’s not putting all of his issues in the past even though he said he’ll probably be the first player to report to camp. When asked if he’ll be wearing No. 15 for the Denver Broncos this season, Marshall chuckled.

“I’m definitely going to be wearing No. 15,” Marshall said.

Marshall previously requested a trade. Marshall wouldn’t go into detail on why he wanted a trade, even after he was asked if it had to do with his contract.

“There’s more to it,” Marshall said. “There’s more to it. As of right now, Kennard, my agent, is handling all of that.”

He also avoided questions about whether he would like to be with the Broncos or if he wanted to be traded.

“Kennard (McGuire), he’s a great agent and I think he’s going to handle all of that,” Marshall said. “I don’t think it would be fair for me to sit up here and kind of bash the organization or the things we’ve been trying to keep behind closed doors.”

Marshall said his hip, which he had offseason surgery on, is getting better. He said he recently did a 360 basketball dunk, then a windmill dunk.

“So I’m good, I’m ready,” Marshall said.

Marshall also called Kyle Orton “a great quarterback” and said players are buying into coach Josh McDaniels’ system. He did say losing Jay Cutler and Mike Shanahan this offseason showed him there is a business side to the game.

“It shows you that you’re going to play the game for the reason you started it, but at the same time you have to secure you and your family,” Marshall said. “You have to do what’s best for you and your family.”

Marshall also said he was not informed he needs to report by July 27, as an injured player, but indicated he will. He said he never received a notice he needs to report early.

“I never received that, but I’ll be there,” Marshall said.
