Quarterback Kyle Orton heard some boos by the end of the scrimmage tonight at Invesco Field at Mile High, after throwing two interceptions to cornerback Andre Goodman and misfiring on many other passes.
It was not a great first impression.
“Fans can cheer, they can boo,” Orton said. “We have good fans. They’re passionate about their football, that’s for sure.”
Orton credited Goodman for making a couple good plays. Another deep ball by Orton was underthrown, allowing Champ Bailey and David Bruton to recover and knock it away.
When Orton misfired on back-to-back passes to Chad Jackson and Jabar Gaffney in a two-minute drill, he heard it from the crowd. Orton has struggled on deep balls throughout camp.
Broncos coach Josh McDaniels didn’t seem concerned about his quarterback’s play.
“There’s a lot of mistakes made tonight on both sides, obviously Kyle made a couple, but he wasn’t alone,” McDaniels said.
