The listing on the depth chart may be a promising sign that Marshall will finally make his 2009 preseason debut Sunday, two weeks before Denver’s regular-season opener at Cincinnati, but Broncos coach Josh McDaniels wouldn’t say for certain if Marshall would play in the third preseason game, saying “we’ll find out during the week.”
“When the players are ready to play, they’ll play in the preseason,” McDaniels said when asked specifically about Marshall. “If they’re not ready to play in the preseason, then they won’t play in the preseason. And if they’re ready to go at Cincinnati, that’s when they’ll play.”
Now that training camp is over, practices are closed to the media other than a short warm-up period at the beginning. McDaniels said Marshall did everything in practice. Over the last two days of practice last week, Marshall ran almost exclusively with the scout team.
