The Broncos needed some good news after a rough night Sunday, and got some when right guard Chris Kuper was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, according to a source who didn’t want to be named because the Broncos didn’t announce the extent of the injury. The injury looked like it could have been much worse.
Kuper is an underrated member of a very good offensive line. He was the only guard in the NFL last year to start every game and not allow a sack. He was replaced last night by rookie Seth Olsen.
Kuper is a tough player – he broke his hand twice last year and played through it both times – so it’s difficult to rule him out of the regular-season opener on Sept. 13.
